Call for Speakers - Cluj.PM meets mst

YAPC::Europe 2016 is over and we already miss you. Let's meet again, we made all the arrangements, including securing an amazing guest speaker: Matt S Trout of Shadowcat Systems Ltd.! He last visited us (apart from YAPC) when we launched our community, on March 2nd 2012, let's welcome him back properly.

See you all again on November the 3rd, at our usual meeting spot: City Plaza Hotel.

If you're working with Perl on a daily basis, or just want to learn more about this versatile language, don't miss out on our meetups. Come and meet Matt Trout, fellow Perl programmers & catch up with friends.

So if you are interested in giving a talk, you should know that your topics may cover anything related to Perl development, entrepreneurship, UI, business, devops, and why not, even other related programming languages! Be creative and surprise us with some really special talk proposals. We know you have it in YOU!

Now back to the administrative details, please submit your talk by October 14th, 2015, by following the link to the submission form. Please keep in mind that there are three types of talk slots: 40 minutes, 20 minutes and 5 minutes (lightning talks). Choose the one that suits you best, or leave us a comment if you need a different time slot. To submit a talk, you can also sent an email to, including title, abstract & duration of your talk.

All the approved speakers will be notified by October 17th, 2015. For details and updates, keep an eye on our social channels!

Registrations for Cluj.PM Event #6 are Closed

As you've probably seen already on Twitter and Facebook, the call for speakers for the upcoming event closed last Friday, on February 14th.

We have got many talk submissions and ended up with great speakers, we got great guest speakers, namely Wendy and Liz. Everything seems to be right on track.

Don't forget: do not make any plans (that don't include the meeting) for March 31st (It is a Monday, by the way)!

Next on our to-do list is announcing the schedule, the location of the event and, of course, opening the Registration for the event.

Once again, I'd like to thank all the speakers for sending talk proposals, we will notify everybody shortly.

Call for Volunteers

Gabor Szabo is looking for volunteers for translating English Perl tutorials into various other languages.

We think this is a great initiative, so whoever would like to involve themselves in making Perl accessible for those who are not quite familiar with the English language is welcome to do so.

The published pages are here:

Thanks to Tudor Constantin and Ștefan Suciu there are already several pages in Romanian. The volunteers should check out the Github repository:

There is a README explaining the process but you should also talk to those two people to coordinate which pages each one of them works on and you should also talk to Gabor Szabo (e-mail: so he can invite you to the mailing list of all the contributors.

You could also help by getting the word out about the site all around Romania. Thanks, guys!
